Over 10 years ago, I started Allison Training Perspectives. I have worked for three different fitness equipment repair companies, both as a subcontractor and as an employee. Through the years I have gained a lot of experience which has enabled me to know and understand most equipment. There is not much that I haven't seen. The most troubling part of my experience has been the deception involved. I learned that the companies who hired me as a subcontractor advertise as though the person they send is an employee and is covered by all liability insurance. The truth is that they are subcontractors and are their own company, and not the one you hired to do the repairs. When I became an employee of a prominent fitness equipment repair company, the economy was in a downturn. To boost sales, workers were given bonuses based on the amount of parts they sold...needed or not. After experiencing these realities, I decided it was time to head in a new direction.
Why have I given you my resume as listed above? The reasons are as follows. When you go to have your car serviced, do you really trust that they will not sell you extra parts that are not needed? When you hire a fitness equipment repair company to come to your home or facility, do you really know who will be coming? I think about these things with EVERY service that I have paid for. There really is no way to ensure that you are not being "taken for a ride." The only way we try to ensure it is by practicing it. At ATP, we insist on keeping our overhead low, which in turn keeps prices low for our customers. We DO NOT have quotas in place, and we DO NOT send subcontractors to do the work, nor do we recommend or replace parts that are not needed. When you hire ATP, you get ATP. Because we do business the right way, hopefully, it comes back to us.
